Krinkle Firetouch's Guide to Magic Items: Volume II

The long awaited sequel to Krinkle's spectacular book of magic items is finally here and it has dozens of new items created over the past year for season 2 of the D8 Night Campaign and you've got a chance to get some of them before the D8 Night crew does!

In classic Krinkle fashion, you will find your fill of magic items that range from serious to silly alongside Krinkle’s own color commentary. There are of course a few magic weapons, but a magic outhouse, gem juicer, and even a loaf of many sandwiches as well. Like all of Krinkle’s arcane creations, the items in this guide are far from predictable.

The guide also includes rules for items that attune to a party as well as a few examples (Gerry and Jenny’s Gem and Junk Juicer, Fresnel, and a Spell Squirrel).

Finally, the guide includes 3 magic items sets with set bonuses that unlock as more items in the set are found. These sets include: The Gear of Mechanus, the Inventor’s Kit, and the Trappings of the Huntress.

Iron Fated

Iron Fated covers the archetype of the hero who has their fate forever intertwined with a great weapon. King Arthur and Excalibur or Aragorn and Andúril are both examples of such heroes.

The guide includes:
  • Fighter Martial Archetype: The Iron Fated.
  • Rules for weapons that scale as a character levels or progresses through the story.
    • Weapon Swap Method – A rules method for using prebuilt weapons from the Dungeon Master’s Guide.
    • Signature Weapon Method - A rules method for creating your own scaling weapons.
  • Two signature weapons examples that scale from uncommon, to rare, to very rare, and finally, to legendary.

Blood, Sweat, and Tears:
Rules for Building Your Own Homunculus

Available for Free / Pay What you Want on the Dungeon Master's Guild!

Xanthar’s Guide to Everything offers a quick and easy way to create a homunculus with statistics that can be found in the Monster Manual. It’s a simple 6th level spell with somewhat expensive material components, but all in all, the process is quick, easy, and predictable. Those rules are perfect for the character who thinks of the homunculus as an afterthought, a nicety, or a convenience. But for the Wizard, Warlock, or other student of the arcane that wants a homunculus that is truly an extension of herself, or for the DM who wants the construction of such a creature to be a true experience for his players, there is room for a more complex set of rules.
Blood, Sweat, and Tears seeks to flesh out the process behind the construction of a homunculus. It allows for customization, while also requiring the kind of patience and dedication that is generally necessary for the creation of such creatures throughout the canon of great horror and science fiction.

This guide includes:
  • An expanded ritual to bring a homunculus to maturity, provide it with a personality and abilities, and instill it with a primary temperament.
  • A process for maturing homunculi at higher levels so that they can grow in power right beside their masters.
  • 18 special abilities for homunculi that vary based on their final temperament(s). These abilities include things like flight, increased perception while keeping watch, the ability to shape shift into other tiny forms, and more.
  • Optional additional customization options including mini-feats.
  • Amazing art by Matze Katze.

Path for Barbarians

Available on Dungeon Master's Guild

The Path of Fury: Barbarian Class Option

If you’ve ever entered the fray and wanted to slam two opponents together, be temporarily impervious to pain, or inspire bloodlust in your compatriots after dealing a deadly blow, then the Path of Fury is the way forward.

The Path of Fury offers a new path for barbarians who don’t mind giving up certain resistances to perform ferocious exploits in battle. This path does for the barbarian what the Battlemaster archetype does for the fighter, but instead of learning maneuvers from practicing in the courtyard of some vassal’s keep, the Path of Fury grants access to exploits that have been honed in the heat of life or death battles.

The path offers access to ferocity dice to fuel your choice of 17 exploits. It also includes the additional state of fury (an alternative to rage) where you sacrifice some resistance and damage bonuses for an increased chance to hit and the ability to perform unique attacks, inspire your allies, or cripple your enemies.
This guide offers guidance on selecting a role-playing reason for taking the path, all of the features offered by the path, and a feat for those who want access to a limited number of exploits without truly becoming a barbarian.

The path will be popular for those who want to multi-class into the first few levels of barbarian as well, since the fury state offers more mental clarity than that of the raging barbarian, allowing for the casting of spells that don’t require concentration.

The Path of Fury is not for the faint of heart, but you’re not that type. You are, after all, a barbarian.

This book contains 50 magic items, some designed by Firetouch, and others that he has encountered throughout the years. Some of the items are powerful, some are novel, and others are as unpredictable as the gnome himself. In this book you will find your fill of magic items from serious to silly, including Krinkle Firetouch’s “Blunder”buss (with 2 d20 randomization tables), The Politer Smiter (an axe with 2 disparate attitudes), The Limb of the Raventree, Tashi’s Life Siphon, The Gloves of Dumpster Diving, and many, many more.

The book also includes a handful of depictions of the items and color commentary from Krinkle Firetouch himself; including what he thinks of Crimpy Elderweasel and how he feels about transmutation magic.
